Voltas, Tata Strive's CoE create employability opportunities for marginalized youth

Voltas in association with Tata Strive, co-hosted the first graduation ceremony at the Voltas Center of Excellence (CoE), Thane, to celebrate the accomplishments of the students trained in the Room Air Conditioning Technician course.

The state-of-the-art training centre located at Voltas's Thane facility, in support of the Government's Make in India mission, commenced operations in September 2016 and has a capacity to train 90 students at any given point of time.

It offers two technical courses in the space of room air conditioning and refrigeration. A distinctive feature of the training pedagogy is its hands-on approach via lab exercises as well as on-the-job training (OJT). The four-week OJT provides learners an exposure to a live shop floor dynamics, and an opportunity to demonstrate and practise the skills learnt in the classroom.

Voltas is among India's leading air-conditioning, refrigeration and engineering services companies.
