Mahindra & Mahindra To Assemble Products In Russia (22-Feb-2012)
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), India's leading SUV manufacturer is planning to assemble its products in Russia through the distributor of its South Korean subsidiary SsangYong in the next two years. The company is in discussion with the Russian distributor of SsangYong on assembling products there. The discussion is in initial stage as it is deciding on what products to be assembled.
In Russia SsangYong already has assembly of semi-knocked down units through its distributor Solaris but Mahindra products will be assembled in CKD route. M&M is currently looking to launch SsangYong's SUV Rexton in India during Diwali this year. The vehicle will be assembled at the Chakan facility in Maharashtra.
Recently, M&M has rolled out new Xylo in Kochi. The advanced version of Mahindra's Xylo, sports 50 new changes and features, including five variants powered by three distinct engine options, and a powerful 120 BHP m Hawk engine.
