Blue Star, Jet Airways and Dilip Buildcon to see some action today

Blue Star is looking to make the first phase of its Rs 220-crore air-conditioner plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, by December 2019. The first phase will see the rollout of 200,000 room AC units annually. Another 400,000 units will be added in two more phases of 200,000 each. The plant will be a fully backward integrated one with better connectivity that will help Blue Star bring down various costs, including freight.

Jet Airways is planning to fly to new destinations in Africa and CIS countries with its soon-to-be-delivered Boeing 737 Max planes, a senior executive said recently. The Boeing 737 Max, the latest version of the American plane-maker's narrow-bodied 737 plane family, can cover distances up to 7 hours, compared with 5.5 hours on its immediate earlier version, the 737 Max NG, or new-generation planes.

Dilip Buildcon has incorporated a new special purpose vehicle (SPV) named 'DBL Bangalore Nidagatta Highways' to undertake the project of six laning of Bangalore - Nidagatta Section km 18.000 to km 74.200 of NH-275 in the State of Karnataka to be executed on Hybrid Annuity Mode.

Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) has raised Rs 1,200 crore through issue of equity shares through qualified institutional placement (QIP) basis. The company has issued 51,502,145 equity shares of face value of Rs 1 each at a price of Rs 233 per share, including a premium of Rs 232.

Vedanta has raised fund on a private placement basis, up to 4500 Secured, Rated, Non-Cumulative, Redeemable, Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) of Rs 4500 crore. The Board of Directors of the company meeting was held on March 23, 2018.

Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS) has joined hands with Mumbai based P.D. Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Centre for the 'Treat to Cure MDR TB' program. This initiative aims to provide treatment for Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) patients and address the cause of growing mortality rate due to TB in India.

NHPC has fully commissioned 50 MW Solar Power Project in Dindigul District in the state of Tamil Nadu. The company has commissioned the solar project on March 23, 2018.
