Tata To Launch Nano’s Advanced Version By 2012 In India (03-Sep-2010)

Tata Motors, one of the largest automobile companies in India, is planning to come up with an advanced version of Tata Nano, the people’s car, by the year 2012 in India. The cheapest car in the word that debuted in 2008 is expected to get transformed into a fully loaded model with a more powerful 3-cylinder sporty all-aluminium MPFI engine with a 5-speed automatic transmission, added comfort features like power steering, longer wheelbase, redesigned interiors and a sporty external looks.
It is also expected to have safety elements like air bags and anti-breaking system (ABS) along with a highly fuel efficient petrol engine that will have low CO2 emission of less than 100 gm/km. The work on upgraded edition of Tata Nano, unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last year, is under progress for the European market and is named as ‘Nano Europa’.
Tata Motors is expected to launch the same Nano Europa in India as well, once the car gets ready for its debut in Europe. The car is being developed keeping in mind the demands of well-off people in already established markets of the world.
