Britannia Industries To Set Up Plants In Bihar And Orissa (05-Sep-2010)
In a bid to augment its production capacity to cater to the growing market, domestic biscuit major, Britannia Industries is likely to invest about Rs 100 crore to set up a plant each in Bihar and Orissa. In this regard, the company is looking for a suitable location near Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in Orissa to set up a biscuit plant.
The company had applied to the Orissa government for 10-12 acres of land near the twin city of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar and expects to get a final nod for it within weeks. The company is also planning to establish a plant in Bihar with an investment of about Rs 45 crore.
Earlier in the month of August, the company had announced that it is planning to augment its capacity by 20% by expanding existing operations and setting up new units
