English Translation:
In order to make higher value products amid surging demand, Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) wants to follow its local rivals in forging a technology joint venture with a Japanese partner. SAIL is in talks with a Japanese company for setting up a factory in eastern India, Steel Minister Virbhadra Singh said in an interview. The plant may be located in Bokaro or Bhilai, where SAIL operates plants. SAIL has an equity capital of Rs 4,130.40 crore as of 2009 Dec. The face value per share is Rs 10.
