The markets opened flat today with negative bias tracking weak cues from the global markets. The Metal, Banking, Power and FMCG stocks are under pressure in the opening trade while IT and Oil & Gas stocks inched higher. The BSE Sensex is now hovering around the 17200 mark and the NSE Nifty around the 5100 mark.

The BSE Sensex is trading marginally lower by 1.74 points or (0.1%) at 17,221.27 and the NSE Nifty is trading lower by 8.30 points or (0.16%) at 5,106.15.

The BSE Mid Cap is trading marginally higher by 9.22 points or (0.14%) at 6,664.71 and the BSE Small Cap grew by 51.98 points or (0.67%) to 7,834.85.

The Overall market breadth is positive as 884 stocks are advancing while 856 stocks are declining and the 74 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
