एनएचपीसी को यह उम्मीद है की बाहर के आरम्भ सार्वजनिक पेशकश (आईपीओ) को अगले महीनो में स्थापित किया जाएगा। इस बीच में पन बिजली कंपनी ने पिछले दो वर्षों के दौरान दो बार अपने आईपीओ को आस्थगित किया। एनएचपीसी ने पहले ड्राफ्ट रेड हेर्रिंग कर्तव्य सूचना पत्र (डीआरएचपी) को अप्रैल 2007 में दाखिल किया, लेकिन कंपनी के रूप में समय पर अपने बोर्ड में स्वतंत्र निदेशकों की आवश्यकता अपेक्षित उग्रता नहीं किया तो सेबी निम्न स्तर की और बदल गया।

एनएचपीसी ने 10 प्रतिशत नए इक्विटी द्बारा सार्वजनिक प्रस्ताव में 1,680 करोड़ रूपये इन्फियूस किए थे जिस समय सरकार ने कंपनी को 5 प्रतिशत दांव से वंचित कर दिया था। सार्वजनिक पेशकश सदस्यता के लिए छह दिनों की अवधि के लिए खुले रहने की संभावना है। हालांकि, इस अवधि और इस मुद्दे में 27 जुलाई के बाद कंपनी में (आरओसी) के रजिस्ट्रार अपने ड्राफ्ट हेर्रिंग कर्तव्य सूचना पत्र के साथ (डीआरएचपी) फ़ाइल को स्थापित करेंगे।

English Translation:

NHPC is expected to come out with its initial public offer (IPO) next month. Meanwhile the hydel power company deferred its IPO two times during last two years. NHPC had earlier filed the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) in April 2007, but Sebi turned down it, as the company did not have the required strength of independent directors on its board on that time.

NHPC will infuse 10 per cent fresh equity through this public offer to raise Rs 1,680 crore while the government will divest its 5 per cent stake in the company. The public offer is probable to remain open for a period of six days for subscription. However, the duration and pricing of the issue would be decided after July 27 when the company would file its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the registrar of companies (RoC).
