Kochi: On Monday, the pepper futures market reported fall mainly on bulls liquidation and changing over to near positions.Additionally, market was also influenced by the reports that Indian importers have bought 700-800 tonnes of black pepper from Vietnam at $2,175 (c&f) Kochi.
There is uneasiness that the Vietnam pepper which is bold in size similar to that of Wayanad might enter the domestic market as importers are said to have 120 days for value addition and re-export. Once that succeeds they could cover from the domestic market, market sources said.
