Wipro advances on launching Automotive Center of Excellence in Romania

Wipro is currently trading at Rs. 301.80, up by 0.55 points or 0.18% from its previous closing of Rs. 301.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 302.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 302.75 and Rs. 301.10 respectively. So far 27,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 303.55 on 11-Sep-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 205.00 on 09-Nov-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 303.55 and Rs. 296.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1,46,901.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 73.18%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 16.77% and 7.99% respectively.

Wipro has launched an Automotive Center of Excellence (CoE) in Timisoara, Romania. This CoE will help the company deliver innovative embedded software solutions for its global and European clients. This engineering center in Romania is part of Wipro's global delivery network that offers best-in-class engineering and IT services.

The company plans to hire experienced technology professionals and engineering graduates from top universities in Romania, to work across technology domains such as in-vehicle infotainment, cluster display, telematics, connected cars and Advanced Driver assistance Systems (ADAS).

Currently, the company has development centers in Bucharest and Timisoara. In order to accommodate the increasing workforce, Wipro has expanded the office space to 12,000+ square metres in Bucharest and 3,000+ square metres in Timisoara.

Wipro is the country's third-largest software services firm and is engaged in providing information technology solutions.
