Tata Motors is currently trading at Rs. 266.50, up by 2.40 points or 0.91% from its previous closing of Rs. 264.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 267.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 270.40 and Rs. 265.00 respectively. So far 334968 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 320.60 on 20-Apr-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 160.20 on 21-Nov-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 282.00 and Rs. 262.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 72601.05 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 34.74% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 40.38% and 8.47% respectively.

Country's largest automotive company, Tata Motors is reportedly planning to add 500,000 ace mini truck and vans to its annual capacity within a couple of years, taking its total small commercial vehicle production capacity to over a million. This capacity addition will be in its plant in Dharwad, Karnataka.

At present, the company holds around three-fourth of India's small commercial vehicle market. It has a 500,000-units-a-year plant in Pantnagar in Uttarakhand for the sub-1 tonne Ace truck and Magic vans, and recently commissioned a 90,000-unit plant in Dharwad for the half-tonne truck Zip and van Iris.
