Rupa & Company trades in fine fettle on the bourses

Rupa & Company is currently trading at Rs. 494.65, up by 7.50 points or 1.54% from its previous closing of Rs. 487.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 492.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 504.25 and Rs. 492.00 respectively. So far 16879 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 590.00 on 15-Jun-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 244.00 on 09-Jan-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 533.80 and Rs. 485.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 3956.74 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 73.29%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.96% and 25.76% respectively.

In a bid to grow its premium portfolio, Rupa & Company is reportedly planning to acquire smaller regional and national players with a turnover of up to Rs 400 crore. The company is planning to add more brands through the inorganic route to grow and compete with international brands like Jockey (from Page Industries), which is the market leader in the premium segment.

Rupa & Company exports its branded products to Myanmar, West Asia and African markets such as Nigeria and Ghana.
