Tata Motors’ Group Global Sales Surge 36 In July (16-Aug-2010)
Tata Motors’ group global sales have surged by 36% in the month of July 2010 to 90,646 vehicles compared to the year ago level. Sales of commercial and passenger vehicles grew by 30% and 42% to 40,576 units and 50,070 units during the month under review from the same month of last year.
Jaguar Land Rover global sales in the last month stood at 19,386 vehicles, up by 30% over the corresponding month of 2009. Sales of Jaguar during July 2010 rose by 26% to 5,676 units while Land Rover registered 31% jump in sales at 13,710 vehicles.
With this, cumulative sales of the company for the current fiscal till July 31, 2010 has gone up by 46% to 3,39,824 units compared to the same period of the previous fiscal.
Tata Motors had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,988.73 crore for the June 2010 quarter against a net loss of Rs 328.78 crore for the June 2009 quarter. Total income increased by 61.31% to Rs 27,090.12 crore during the Q1FY11 from Rs 16,794.04 crore for the Q1FY10.
