China And US Sign Eight Green Technology Deals (28-May-2010)

China and the U.S have entered into green energy pacts, where both the countries have inked at-least 8 such agreements.
This deal will clear the roadway for imports of high-end technologies, which were so far blocked by Washington.
The deals include – aviation biofuel, distributed energy systems using natural gas as fuel, smart meters and cellulosic ethanol.
Mr. Zhang Guobao, Head of National Energy Administration (NEA) said both the nations are also planning to work together for the renewable energy developments.
The scope is big out here as the US has advanced technology, and China has a huge market.
Mr. Jon Huntsman, U.S Ambassador to China said both the countries will take every possible measure to ensure the cooperation in energy and environment.
Analysts said, the deals could set examples for global collaboration in increasing energy efficiency and protecting environment.
Mr. Zhang said China will continue to focus on the development of renewable energy sector – hydro, wind, solar, and biomass energy.
Mr. Mark Pinto, Executive VP and corporate technology officer at Applied Materials said with China''s growing energy needs, the relationship with the CECEP represents a great opportunity to promote sustainable energy development through the optimal use of renewable energy generation with solar power.
The deals could also extend opportunities for high technology to emerging economies like – India as U.S was keen to step up exports in the sector to increase its earnings from exports which in turn could also help create more jobs for Americans.
