SJVN, a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh awarded contract to Gamesa Wind Turbines India for supplying 56 wind turbines of 850 kW capacity each, totaling 47.60 MW. The order is worth around Rs 300 crore and has 10-years operations and maintenance services contract period.
Gamesa India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gamesa of Spain, which is among the top five wind turbine companies in the world. SJVN is a 'mini-ratna' central public sector undertaking and owns 5,186 MW of power capacity, including the 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station.
