Tata Motors’ July sales vroom 41 (01-Aug-2010)

Auto major Tata Motors’ July month sales have gone up by 41% to 67,799 vehicles from 48,054 vehicles for July 2009. Its domestic sales during the reporting month stood at 63,558 units, up 39% over 45,599 units sold in the year ago period.
The commercial vehicles segment witnessed a 26% growth in July 2010 compared to the corresponding month of 2009. The company sold a total of 35,694 vehicles in July 2010 against 28,408 vehicles in July 2009.
The passenger vehicles segment saw a robust growth of 52% in the previous month at 30,165 vehicles against 19,881 vehicles in the year ago period. Its sales from exports grew by 73% during the month under review to 4,241 units from 2,455 units in July last year. The company’s cumulative sales for the current fiscal has now gone up by 46% to 249,507 vehicles from 171,168 units in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Tata Motors had posted a net profit of Rs 2,240.08 crore for the year ended March 31, 2010 against Rs 1,001.26 crore for the year ended March 31, 2009, up 123.72%. Its total income increased by 41.01% to Rs 37,446.50 crore during FY10 from Rs 26,555.70 crore for FY09.
