TVS Motor Reports 5% Rise In January Sales (01-Feb-2012)

Two-wheeler maker, TVS Motor Company has reported a growth of 5% in its January sales. The company has sold a total of 173,514 units in January 2012 as compared to 165,152 units in January 2011. The cumulative sales of the company for the period April-January 2012 thus stood at 1,843,554 units, up by 10%.
Two wheeler sales have increased by 6% during the month under review to 171,112 units from 161,725 units for the year ago period. While, three wheeler sales decreased to 2,402 units in January 2012 from 3,427 units in January 2011, registering a fall of 29.91%.
Scooter sales increased by 2% with sales of 41,469 units compared to 40,736 units recorded in January 2011. Motorcycles recorded sales of 65,608 units in January 2012 against 67,721 units in January 2011. Domestic two wheeler sales of the company grew by 8% with 153,014 units in January 2012 against 142,227 units reported in January 2011.
Exports registered total sales of 18,610 units in January 2012 against 21,224 units in the same month of the previous year.
