Crompton Greaves Reports Poor Q3 Numbers (01-Feb-2012)

Crompton Greaves has reported results for third quarter ended December 31, 2011.
The company has posted a fall of 28.05% in its net profit of Rs 126.65 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 176.03 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income has increased by 15.29% from Rs 1420.72 crore for Q3FY11 to Rs 1637.97 crore in the quarter under review.
On the consolidated basis, the group's net profit tumbled 66.86% to Rs 77.14 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 232.80 crore in the same quarter last year. Total income of the company improved by 26.33% to Rs 3043.41 crore for the quarter compared to Rs 2409.02 crore in the quarter, year ago.
Current period include the results of the subsidiaries acquired during the period specifically Emotron in Sweden and QEI in the USA. Consequently, figures for the current period are not comparable with the figures of the corresponding previous periods and figures for the previous periods / year have been regrouped and reclassified, wherever necessary.
