Turmeric futures trade tad lower on improved cultivation

Turmeric futures traded marginally lower on NCDEX, due to liquidation of bets by speculators with the reports of improved sowing in turmeric growing areas of Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra coupled with low export demand. Moreover, increased arrivals from growing regions amid mounting of inventories also weighed on the turmeric prices in future trade.

The contract for September delivery was trading at Rs 6392.00, down by 0.06% or Rs 4.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6396.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 65 lots.

The contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 6674.00, down by 0.33% or Rs 22.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6696.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 11675 lots on NCDEX.
