Turmeric futures trade lower on profit taking

Turmeric futures traded lower on NCDEX, owing to profit taking by market participants in line with the reports that improved sowing in turmeric growing areas of Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Moreover, lower exports demand also pressurized the prices.

The contract for September delivery was trading at Rs 6738.00, down by 0.44% or Rs 30.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6768.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 11455 lots.

The contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 6800.00, down by 0.53% or Rs 36.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6836.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 6785 lots on NCDEX.
