Turmeric futures trade lower on NCDEX

Turmeric futures traded lower on NCDEX on the back of expectations of fresh arrivals at the spot markets due to improved harvesting activities. Improved crop prospects in Maharashtra also triggered the downside momentum. Further, sluggish demand in the physical market too added pressure on turmeric prices.

The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 6232.00, down by 0.1% or Rs 6.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6238.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 11270 lots.

The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 6284.00, down by 0.13% or Rs 8.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6292.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 3305 lots on NCDEX.
