Turmeric futures trade lower on improved cultivation

Turmeric futures traded lower on NCDEX, due to narrowing of bets with reports of improved sowing in turmeric growing areas of Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Moreover, lower export demand also pressurizing the prices.

The contract for September delivery was trading at Rs 6740.00, down by 0.33% or Rs 22.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6762.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 9305 lots.

The contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 6828.00, down by 0.15% or Rs 10.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6838.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 8350 lots on NCDEX.
