Turmeric futures trade lower on improved crop prospects

Turmeric futures traded lower on NCDEX, on the back of improved crop prospects in Maharashtra and expectation of higher overall output. Besides, weak demand in the physical market also fuelled the downtrend.

The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 6244.00, down by 0.29% or Rs 18.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6262.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 9360 lots.

The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 6296.00, down by 0.41% or Rs 26.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6322.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 5265 lots on NCDEX.
