Turmeric futures trade lower on higher acreage

Turmeric futures traded lower on NCDEX, due to lower than expected export demand and improved turmeric growing areas in Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra. However, good domestic demand is capping the downside momentum.

The contract for December delivery was trading at Rs 6410.00, down by 0.25% or Rs 16.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6426.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 7900 lots.

The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 6680.00, down by 0.71% or Rs 48.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6728.00.The open interest of the contract stood at 13130 lots on NCDEX.
