Turmeric futures trade higher on uptick in demand

Turmeric futures traded higher on NCDEX as stockists and traders short covered amid uptick in physical domestic and export demand. Moreover, lower than expected stocks and restricted arrivals in the spot market also fueled the positive trend.

The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 7480.00, up by 0.54% or Rs 40.00 from its previous closing of Rs 7440.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 2715 lots.

The contract for June delivery was trading at Rs 7582.00, up by 0.64% or Rs 48.00 from its previous closing of Rs 7534.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 16205 lots on NCDEX.
