Turmeric futures trade higher on lower supplies

Turmeric futures traded higher on NCDEX due to lower supplies at spot markets on account of festival season. Moreover, expectation of improvement in upcountry and export demand too fuelled the upward momentum.

The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 6452.00, up by 1.19% or Rs 76.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6376.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 4940 lots.

The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 6528.00, up by 1.33% or Rs 86.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6442.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 11900 lots on NCDEX.
