Turmeric futures trade higher on increasing demand

Turmeric futures traded higher on NCDEX, as stockists and retailers engaged in fresh buying on anticipations of increase in physical demand during sowing season. However, some gains remain capped on reports of improved sowing turmeric growing areas of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra.

The contract for September delivery was trading at Rs 6902.00, up by 0.50 % or Rs 34.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6868.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 13980 lots.

The contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 6960.00, up by 0.55 % or Rs 38.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6922.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 5820 lots on NCDEX.
