Turmeric futures trade higher on improving demand

Turmeric futures traded higher on NCDEX, on accumulation of positions by market participants supported with upbeat physical demand from domestic markets amid prevailing lower prices. However, improved sowing in turmeric growing areas of Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra capped upside.

The contract for November delivery was trading at Rs 6706.00, up by 0.48 % or Rs 32.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6674.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 12390 lots.

The contract for December delivery was trading at Rs 6762.00, up by 0.65 % or Rs 44.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6718.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 2320 lots on NCDEX.
