Physical Rubber Prices Strengthens On Thursday (20-Jan-2012)
Physical rubber prices showed some improvement on Thursday after a slew of sluggish trade in last few sessions. The domestic and international futures strengthened and helped the spot prices to move higher. Fresh buying and short covering too supported the commodity, though seller stayed away from the active trade expecting more price rise.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety closed at Rs 192.50/kg compared with its previous closing of Rs 191.50/kg, while the RSS-5 variety closed at Rs 187/kg compared with its previous closing of Rs 185/kg.
In the futures market, the contract of RSS-4 for February delivery closed at Rs 197.20 compared to its previous closing of Rs 195.56, while the contract for March delivery closed at Rs 201.09 compared to its previous closing of Rs 199.42on the National Multi Commodity Exchange.
