Potato futures move higher on improved demand

Potato futures moved higher on MCX as speculators created fresh positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market supported by ongoing marriage season. Besides, restricted arrivals in the markets from producing belts in UP, Punjab, MP and West Bengal also impacted sentiments .

The contract for March delivery was trading at Rs 953.10, up by 1.16% or Rs 10.90 from its previous closing of Rs 942.20. The open interest of the contract stood at 1311.00 lots.

The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 943.00, up by 1.12% or Rs 10.40 from its previous closing of Rs 932.60. The open interest of the contract stood at 604.00 lots on MCX.
