Nickel futures trade down on muted demand

Nickel futures edged lower on MCX as speculators cut down their positions, taking negative cues from spot market on muted demand from consuming industries.

The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 844.50, down by 0.20% or Rs 1.70 from its previous closing of Rs 846.20. The open interest of the contract stood at 12750 lots.

The contract for June delivery was trading at Rs 870.70, down by 0.30% or Rs 2.60 from its previous closing of Rs 873.30. The open interest of the contract stood at 219 lots on MCX.
