Nickel futures edge lower on weak demand

Nickel futures edged lower on MCX as speculators cut down their positions, tracking weak demand from alloy-makers and other consuming industries at the spot market.

The contract for March delivery was trading at Rs 873.80, down by 0.54% or Rs 4.70 from its previous closing of Rs 878.50. The open interest of the contract stood at 10188 lots.

The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 877.90, down by 0.54% or Rs 4.80 from its previous closing of Rs 882.70. The open interest of the contract stood at 1924 lots on MCX.
