Barley futures trade lower on fall in demand

Barley futures traded lower on NCDEX on fall in demand from beer and cattle-feed making industries. Besides, increased arrivals from growing regions too fuelled the downtrend.

The contract for August delivery was trading at Rs 1554.00, down by 0.45% or Rs 7.00 from its previous closing of Rs 1561.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 590.00 lots.

The contract for September delivery was trading at Rs 1577.50, down by 0.03% or Rs 0.50 from its previous closing of Rs 1578.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 13340.00 lots on NCDEX.
