Barley futures decline on tepid demand

Barley futures declined on NCDEX, as speculators trimmed their positions on tepid demand from spot markets. Meanwhile, increased arrivals from growing regions also weighed on the future trade prices.

The contract for September delivery was trading at Rs 1618.50, down by 1.37% or Rs 22.50 from its previous closing of Rs 1641.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 920 lots. 

The contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 1671.00, down by 0.59% or Rs 10.00 from its previous closing of Rs 1681.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 7770 lots on NCDEX.
