Jeera futures trade tad higher on firm demand

Jeera futures traded marginally higher on NCDEX, as market players initiated fresh buying counting on firm domestic and export demands in midst of diminished sowing reports. However, profit booking at higher levels and news that Gujarat government is providing water in canal for rabi crops amid scanty rains, also capped the upside momentum.

The contract for December delivery was trading at Rs 19770.00, up by 0.05 % or Rs 10.00 from its previous closing of Rs 19760.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 4878 lots.

The contract for January delivery was trading at Rs 19950.00, up by 0.20 % or Rs 40.00 from its previous closing of Rs 19910.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 1002 lots on NCDEX.
