Jeera futures traded lower on NCDEX, in line with the report that, cumin arrivals have been about 10,000 tonnes during 1-19 February compared to 8,200 tonnes last year for the same period. Moreover, the anticipations of higher production this season on reports of higher acreage of jeera in Gujarat during current season against the report that NCDEX warehouse is holding more than 8,900 tonnes of jeera, weighted on the prices.
The contract for March delivery was trading at Rs 15655.00, down by 1.23% or Rs 195.00 from its previous closing of Rs 15850.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 10629 lots.
The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 15800.00, dip by 1.25% or Rs 200.00 from its previous closing of Rs 16000.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 2205 lots on NCDEX.
