Groundnut Output To Increase This Summer (20-May-2011)
IOPEPC as calculated the summer season groundnut output in Gujarat to be close to 2.71 lakh tonne compared to 1.29 lakh tonne during the past year, that is better by 110 %.
Additionally, the output of sesame this year is going to rise by 37.5 % to 55,000 tones.
In organization Junagadh Agriculture University, the authorities had made a crop review in several areas of Gujarat for the period of May 7 to May 13.
According to the study, groundnut planting area at the time of the on-going period has grown to 1.21 lakh hectares from 68000 hectares in Gujarat because of enough option of watering . Because of this, output will probably improve by 110 % to 2.71 lakh tonnes.
However a number of regional investors differ with estimation. In accordance with all of them groundnut output will be close to 3.5 to 4 lakh tonnes. They feel that producers got a lot more groundnut crops to satisfy the necessity of cows supply. During Kharif period higher rainwater also harmed the groundnut plants which means that farmers suffered a lack of cattle feed.
