Gold futures trade higher on Monday

Gold futures traded higher on Monday, as investors stayed away from riskier assets due to still lingering worries on US-China trade war, worries over a partial US government shutdown and slowing global economic growth.

Gold futures for February delivery were up 0.5 percent at $1,264.1 on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold rose by 0.4 percent to to $1,261.47 per ounce.
