Gold futures end higher on weaker dollar

Gold futures ended higher on Monday as the dollar slipped against a basket of major currencies and losses in the US stock market buoyed demand for the precious metal. Though, some gains were capped as the investors were waiting for the US presidential debate for pointers as to the outcome of November's election.

Gold futures for December delivery gained $2.40 or 0.2 percent to settle at $1,344.10 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. While, spot gold was up 0.01 percent to $1,337.40 an ounce.
