Gold futures end higher on Monday

Gold futures ended higher on Monday, marking its highest rate since late July due to increased safe haven investments amidst of crash in global equity markets and geo-political tensions. Meanwhile, weakness in dollar also added to the upside momentum. As per reports, in last week the yellow metal had climbed 1.4%, registering its second weekly rise in a row.

Gold futures for December delivery settled up $8.3, or 0.68 percent, at $1,230.30 per ounce, on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold gained 0.7 percent to $1,226.50 per ounce.
