Mentha oil futures trade marginally lower on muted demand

Mentha oil futures traded marginally lower on MCX as investors and speculators cut down their positions in the agri-commodity amid muted demand for mentha oil from major consuming industries in the domestic spot market. Further, ample stocks position on higher supplies from major producing belts of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, too weighed on mentha oil prices.

The contract for September delivery was trading at Rs 1198.50, down by 0.27% or Rs 3.20 from its previous closing of Rs 1201.70. The open interest of the contract stood at 3244 lots.

The contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 1213.50, down by 0.19% or Rs 2.30 from its previous closing of Rs 1215.80. The open interest of the contract stood at 1428 lots on MCX.
