Mentha oil futures trade lower on profit booking

Mentha oil futures traded lower on MCX as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid fall in demand from consuming industries at the spot market. Besides, ample stocks position on higher supplies from major producing belts of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh too fuelled the downtrend.

The contract for September delivery was trading at Rs 1747.00, down by 1.79% or Rs 31.90 from its previous closing of Rs 1778.90. The open interest of the contract stood at 1226 lots.

The contract for October delivery was trading at 1764.50, down by 1.97% or Rs 35.50 from its previous closing of Rs 1800.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 574 lots on MCX.
