Mentha oil futures edge down on subdued demand

Mentha oil futures edged down on MCX as speculators trimmed their positions, tracking subdued demand from consuming industries at the spot market. Further, higher supplies from major producing regions of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh too weighed on mentha oil futures.

The contract for July delivery was trading at Rs 974.00, down by 0.61% or Rs 6.00 from its previous closing of Rs 980.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 2672 lots.

The contract for August delivery was trading at Rs 985.20, down by 0.50% or Rs 5.00 from its previous closing of Rs 990.20. The open interest of the contract stood at 2444 lots on MCX.
