Mentha oil futures decline on subdued demand

Mentha oil futures declined on MCX as speculators trimmed their positions, driven by subdued demand from consuming industries at the spot markets. Besides, ample stocks position on higher supplies from major producing belt of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh too fuelled the downtrend.

The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 1315.10, down by 0.64% or Rs 8.50 from its previous closing of Rs 1323.60. The open interest of the contract stood at 928 lots.

The contract for June delivery was trading at Rs 1174.40, down by 0.2% or Rs 2.30 from its previous closing of Rs 1176.70. The open interest of the contract stood at 656 lots on MCX.
