Crude oil futures trade higher on MCX

Crude oil futures traded higher on MCX as speculators indulged in enlarging positions even as it dipped from recent highs in global markets on hopes that alternative supplies could replace a looming drop in Iranian exports from US sanctions.

The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 4792.00, up by 0.74% or Rs 35.00 from its previous closing of Rs 4757.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 21874 lots.

The contract for June delivery was trading at Rs 4802.00, up by 0.73% or Rs 35.00 from its previous closing of Rs 4767.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 2797 lots on MCX.
