Crude oil futures edge higher on MCX

Crude oil futures edge higher on MCX as participants enlarged their holdings as lingering supply constraints overshadowed a lower demand growth forecast by OPEC. OPEC's latest survey of production on Wednesday showed Iranian output sliding to 3.6 million b/d in August, a more than two-year low.

The contract for September delivery was trading at Rs 4940.00, up by 0.45% or Rs 22.00 from its previous closing of Rs 4918.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 11886 lots.

The contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 4946.00, up by 0.49% or Rs 24.00 from its previous closing of Rs 4922.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 2577 lots on MCX.
