Cotton futures exhibit mixed trend on MCX

Cotton futures showed mixed trend on MCX as July contract edged higher on concern about excess rains in major growing regions of Gujarat, while October contract edged lower due to weak demand from traders and stockists at the spot market.

The contract for July delivery was trading at Rs 20870.00, up by 0.24% or Rs 50.00 from its previous closing of Rs 20820.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 1695 lots.

The contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 18310.00, down by 0.70% or Rs 130.00 from its previous closing of Rs 18440.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 2182 lots on MCX.
