Cotton futures edge lower on subdued demand

Cotton futures edged lower on MCX amid subdued demand from traders and stockists at the spot market. Though, reports of pink bollworm attack in major producing regions capped some losses in cotton futures.

The contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 23200.00, down by 0.30% or Rs 70.00 from its previous closing of Rs 23270.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 4188 lots.

The contract for November delivery was trading at Rs 22750.00, down by 0.35% or Rs 80.00 from its previous closing of Rs 22830.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 1901 lots on MCX.
