Cotton futures edge higher on good demand

Cotton futures edged higher on MCX due to good demand from traders and stockists at the spot market. Though, some gains were capped on expectation of higher cotton production in the 2016-17 seasons.

The contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 19170.00, up by 0.52% or Rs 100.00 from its previous closing of Rs 19070.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 248 lots.

The contract for November delivery was trading at Rs 18620.00, up by 0.65% or Rs 120.00 from its previous closing of Rs 18500.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 3613 lots on MCX.
