Cotton futures decline on subdued demand

Cotton futures declined on MCX due to subdued demand from domestic mills. Though, expectation of lower production in the country capped some losses in cotton futures.

The contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 20920.00, down by 0.38% or Rs 80.00 from its previous closing of Rs 21000.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 3620.00 lots.

The contract for November delivery was trading at Rs 19590.00, down by 0.20% or Rs 40.00 from its previous closing of Rs 19630.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 2252.00 lots on MCX.
